Five facts first
- We keep what you type into our forms, plus basic server logs.
- We never sell personal information.
- A published review shows your name and city, never your email or phone.
- Our pages work without cookies; a Google map may set its own.
- Depending on where you live, you can ask contact@res-menus.com to see, fix or delete your data.
This page covers res-menus.com and every restaurant menu page on its subdomains. It says what Res Menus ("we", "us") learns about you, why, and what you can do about it. If you use the site, you accept the handling described here.
What you type in
When you contact us, ask for a location page, suggest an edit or write a review, we receive what you enter. That can be your name, email address, phone number and city, details about a restaurant, star ratings and the words of your message or review.
What our server logs
Each visit leaves a technical record on our server: the IP address, which browser and device you use, the pages you open, the site that referred you, and when you came. We use that record to keep the site safe and to see how it gets used.
Why we use it
- To answer what you asked us.
- To add, update, check or remove location pages.
- To read and post guest reviews. A review shows the name and city you gave, and never your email address or phone number.
- To run, protect and improve the site.
- To meet legal duties and to enforce our Conditions of Use .
Cookies on this site
A cookie is a small file that your browser keeps. Res Menus pages work without them. Parts supplied by other companies, such as an embedded Google map, can set their own cookies when they load. If we ever add an analytics or advertising service, such as Google Analytics or Google AdSense, that service may use cookies to count visits or pick ads, and we will update this page. Your browser settings let you block or clear cookies at any time.
Google maps and links
Menu pages show maps from Google. Once a map loads, Google may collect information under the Google Privacy Policy . A link out to a restaurant's website, an ordering service or a social network takes you to a site that follows its own privacy rules.
Who gets a copy
Res Menus does not sell personal information to anyone. It reaches others only in these cases:
- Companies that run parts of the site for us, such as hosting and email, and that must keep it confidential.
- When the law says we must, or when we need to guard the rights, safety or property of our users or of Res Menus.
- If Res Menus is sold, merged or hands its assets to another company. This page would still cover your data after that.
Reviews are public
Reviews and edits you send may show up on menu pages, where anyone can read them. Leave out personal details you would not want strangers to see.
Deleting old data
Personal data stays only as long as the reasons above call for it, for example while a page request is open or while your review is up. After that we delete it or strip out what identifies you, unless the law makes us hold it longer.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, California and the European Economic Area included, you may be able to see, correct or delete your personal information, limit or object to some uses of it, and get a copy of it. Send the request to contact@res-menus.com . Using these rights will not change how we treat you.
Young visitors
Res Menus is not aimed at kids under 13. We do not collect their personal information on purpose. Think a kid under 13 gave us personal details? Let us know and we will erase them.
Keeping data safe
We guard information with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. Still, nothing sent over the internet or kept on a server is fully secure, so we cannot promise that nothing will ever get through.
Revisions to this page
We may revise this page from time to time. The effective date at the bottom marks the current version, and visiting after a revision means you agree to the revised text.
